2019 Motion #1 For Approval. Various sections of the OSMHA Constitution. Amendment to add the position of Associate Registrar as a voting position to the Board. Rationale: To spread out the work of the Registrar over two people in an effort to reduce the workload on Registrar especially at the beginning of the season.
2019 Motion #2 For Ratification. Section 14.1 of the OSMHA Rules and Regulations. Removal of the automatic addition of additional discipline when a team official receives a game misconduct. Rationale: It is better to deal with team officials on a case by case basis when receiving a game misconduct.
2018 Motion #1 For Approval. Various sections of the OSMHA Constitution. Amendment: To change the titles of Secretary to Vice-President Administration, Webmaster to Vice-President Communications, and Treasurer to Vice-President Finances throughout the OSMHA Constitution and related documents. Rationale: To better reflect current duties and responsibilities and to avoid any perceived gender bias.
2018 Motion #2 For Ratification. Section 12 of the OSMHA Rules and Regulations titled Team Official / Player Dress Code and Sting Clothing Policy. Rationale: The amendments provide more options to coaching staff regarding Sting wear, and greater clarity throughout the document as to Sting wear requirements for Sting teams.
Appendix E of the OSMHA Rules and Regulations titled Non-Parent Team Officials Expenses Policy. Rationale: The amendments align this appendix with the policy set out in the Note to Head Coach and Team Manager on Team Financial Matters (Manager and Treasurer Resources Tab of the Sting website) for reimbursement of out of town tournament expenses incurred by non-parent team officials. http://www.ottawasting.com/files/osmharule®revised2016_updated_with_attire_changes.pdf
Background Information on Election of OSMHA Board Members
Positions on the Executive: Members are elected to the Executive at the AGM for a two year position. Members in good standing wishing to run for election to any of the vacant or up for re-election positions are required to file, in writing, a notice of his/her intention to seek election to a specific office on the Executive at the AGM. Written notification must be received no later than fourteen (14)days prior to the AGM and should be sent to the Ottawa Sting Secretary at secretary@ottawasting.com.
