Welcome Hockey Players and Parents,
After a beautiful summer break we hit the ice once again, on Sept 5, 2023, to begin the U14B Sting Tryout. Hopefully everyone enjoyed the time away from the rink and is looking forward to getting going once again.
With a new school year starting and hockey tryouts in full swing, this can be a very stressful time for all, especially the players but the parents too. Should you have any questions about the process please do not hesitate to ask our liaison and we will do our best to respond quickly.
Overall, the evaluations will consist of multiple experienced former hockey coaches attending each tryout. The evaluators will provide unbiased evaluations based on the players on ice play, off ice behaviour and overall general observations. We are expecting and looking for players who demonstrate great behaviour and respect, work hard the entire time, rank high in skill, hockey sense and play the game engaging contact smartly. This is a competitive team and our goal is to build a team of determined athletes who demonstrate these qualities the entire time.
Prior to each game we will provide instructions to the players to ensure expectations are clear and understood.
